Dear Lions Fellows,

I was happy and honoured to be the President of the LC Luxembourg Erasmus for the double term 2022-2023 and 2023/2024.

When I took over the presidency in July 2022, I thought it was almost impossible to do more for the community this year than the previous one, which was an exceptional year. My view was that we could only build on the traditional Club activities, serving those in need, and having a good time together in friendship.

But, unfortunately, the world faced even more challenges than in the past. COVID was not over, the war in Ukraine continued, as did the environmental and energy crises, to name but a few. The earthquake in Turkey and Syria brought a lot of suffering to millions of people. But all these catastrophic events gave us the opportunity to make a difference by helping those suffering from the war, fear, hunger, or cold.

I am grateful to all of you for your commitment to bringing smiles to the faces of those who need our help.
